Kill O' The Grange National School, Co. Dublin

Welcome

Kill o’ the Grange National School opened its doors in 1963 and is now in a beautiful new building since 2004. Our co-educational school is managed by a Board of Management, which is comprised of the Kill o' the Grange Parish Rector, the principal, parish nominees alongside both teacher and parent nominees. The objective of the School is to promote a happy, intimate and caring environment inclusive to all. A place of learning that teaches Christian values and instils strong values and self worth so our pupils are given the opportunity to meet their potential. It is a school that recognises every child as an individual.

Each child has a place, each voice has its say,
They brighten our school in their own special way.

In The Nest, our ASD room, the magic is strong,
With Ms O’Connor, Michelle, Judith & Angie, where six little stars truly belong.
Their wonder is mighty, their spirits shine bright,
They learn, grow and flourish — a daily delight.

Our mornings begin with Trish on the street,
Keeping us safe with her smile so sweet.
Then Junior Infants with Miss MiddletonDiane and Wendy on hand,
With 25 learners discovering letters so grand.

Senior Infants follow, led gently each day
By Miss Whitley — or Ms Quickly, as some like to say!
Alongside Eileen, they dance, learn and play,
Their curiosity blooming in every way.

First Class is guided by Miss Merrick from Donegal fair,
With Denis, our music maestro, adding melody to the air.
A classroom of characters, lively and bright,
Each bringing their own lovely spark to the light.

Second Class with Miss Lyster and Susan in tow,
Nativity lines practiced, their confidence grows.
The children are glowing, they beam as they learn,
With kindness and joy at every turn.

In Third ClassMs Shanley and Ms Allen unite,
A dream duo whose artists create day and night.
Their paints and ideas spill colour and flair,
Talent is thriving in every chair.

Fourth Class with Miss Hewitt and Suzanne running steady,
Their learning is clear, their students are ready.
Covering all that is needed, with patience and grace,
Encouraging minds in this bright, buzzing space.

Fifth Class, where Ms Davey (with Katie and Anita & Ann) governs the floor,
Creativity bursting from every pore.
Personalities nurtured, new ideas explored,
A hive full of brilliance — never ignored.

Sixth Class is ruled by Ms Harris and Karen, Queens of Nativity scenes,
Teaching high standards and values, the best of routines.
Her students stand tall, with pride in their stride,
Ready for futures where they’ll shine far and wide.

Behind all the magic is Stanley, our man,
Fixing everything — because he just can!
Is there anything this hero cannot repair ...even a head (never fear!).?

If so, we’ve yet to find it — he’s always there.

Our SET team — Mr McConnell, Ms McDonnell/Mitchell/BakerMs JustinMs Tully —
Support every child, keep learning rich, warm and fully.
Their roles are pivotal, their guidance so strong,
Helping each child to feel safe, seen and belong.

And high in our family tree stands Mrs Gavin, so wise,
With Mrs Evans, beside her — a duo we prize.
They lead with compassion, with laughter and care,
Bringing the very best out of all of us here.

We’re music-mad learners, sports stars in the making,
Kind, confident, curious — every step we are taking.

Each of our students belong to a house. Each of our houses are named after a colour (as you can see from this table) and siblings are placed within the same House.

Throughout the academic year the students are awarded points based on merits achieved across the school, whether it is small gestures of kindness, sporting achievements or exceptional behaviour shown towards their peers they are guided monthly by goals set out by the student council.

These goals are identified as qualities each student must demonstrate during the month to be awarded points: Resilience, Optimism and Kindness, to name a few.

Alongside these traits and behaviours students can also win points by using the route to school options every Thursday. Follow here to see how your or your family members' house is doing!

This school now has high-speed broadband connectivity through the Department of Education and Youth's School Broadband Programme, which was delivered as part of Ireland's National Recovery and Resilience Plan (NRRP) under the Recovery and Resilience Facility funded by the European Union through NextGenerationEU.
